Christmas Light Displays near Atlanta
Christmas Lights near Atlanta
Don’t forget to enjoy the holiday season! The holidays are a great time of year with festivities going on everywhere and it can be easy to get wrapped up in the frustration of holiday traffic and fighting the lines for those hot Christmas presents. There are several ways to take a step back from the hustle and bustle of the holidays and enjoy it, one of which could be going to see “The Christmas Carol.” Susan Annis and Associates got the wonderful opportunity to see this play as part of the Optimus Christmas Party at the Shakespeare Theater in Atlanta. One of the most popular ways to enjoy the holidays is going to see Christmas lights and in Atlanta you have so many options for viewing amazing light displays.
Whether it’s driving through subdivisions and seeing the unique ways that people decide to spread the Christmas cheer, decorating their homes or going to see professional lights, this is a tradition that many people have shared with their friends and families for generations. For many residents of the south side of Atlanta, “Gaddy Family Christmas Light Extravaganza” is a must see during the holidays. For 29 years, The Gaddy family has cars lined up on the street waiting to drive throughout their property to see the amazing display of lights and Christmas decorations of all kinds set up on the land surrounding their home. This display has even made national television as it was shown on WSB on December 4th of this year as part of the “Great Christmas Light Fight.” There is something to be said for the effort that a local family puts into spreading the holiday spirit. The Gaddy family does not charge for their fantastic display, but they do provide a drop box for “Toys for Tots” along the ride for people wishing to provide a gift for a child in need this Christmas.
If you are looking for a large venue to enjoy professionally done Christmas Lights, Atlanta has several options. “The Atlanta Journal Constitution” put out an article on November 7th, 2017 with the top 7 light displays in Atlanta. I recommend checking out the list when making plans for the holidays as well as some of the ones from the list that we have personally experienced and highly recommend among the Susan Annis and Associates team including; Callaway Gardens, Botanical Gardens, and Stone Mountain. Stone Mountain also has a daily event during the holidays and running through February called “Snow Mountain” if you are looking for somewhere to enjoy a whole day of festivities and fun for all age groups which includes snow tubing as one of their events for all ages.
Whether buying tickets for an extravagant Christmas display or gathering the family in the car and trolling through subdivisions, remember to enjoy the beauty of the holiday’s that can only be experienced a couple months out of the year.
We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays from Susan Annis & Associates!
