Giving Back to the Community
It’s easy to get wrapped up in being a part of a successful business. We have a great Real Estate team with Susan Annis and Associates and enjoy the luxuries of being successful, but we also make a conscious effort to make sure we are supporting our local community and giving back to those in need. We have spent the year giving back with Toys for Tots, volunteering at Midwest Food bank, Clarks Christmas gifts for kids, foster children support through Cokes Chapel daycare, and showing support towards a truly remarkable organization in CHOA (Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta). We have toured the facility to learn how they are helping children with many different health needs and attended their yearly Christmas parade.
After an amazing tour of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta we realized how much they are helping kids in need throughout the Atlanta area and it motivated us to begin giving a portion of every one of our closings to the organization. We received an exceptional tour by Mallory Ciotti. It was heartwarming to hear the success stories of how CHOA is helping children with multiple needs daily and how comfortable they make the kids that visit their state of the art facility in Atlanta. By clicking on the history tab on choa.org you can read about the stories of Hope and Will that have become the two mascots for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta along with other patient and employee stories that the site updates frequently.
It’s uplifting to see how CHOA has turned into an organization with 3 top of the line Atlanta hospitals after starting out in 1915 with two rented cottages with only 20 patient beds. They have close to 150 different categories they treat between their three facilities including Cancer, NICU, Urgent Care, Pain relief, and Neurosurgery to name a few. One of the big takeaways for Susan Annis and Associates when receiving our tour, was the importance of not only giving treatment for the children but the importance that the staff places into ensuring the patients feel as much at home and enjoy their stay as much as possible. They are constantly reaching out to try and have fun events held for the kids at the facility and have put a lot of investments into playgrounds and rehabilitation rooms that are enjoyable for the children. Our team left the tour confident that every donation made to CHOA was used in some way that is meaningful to the kids and their families. I recommend visiting www.choa.org and taking the time to see how much they are doing in our community.
As a successful Real Estate Team, that has experience in the business dating back 20 years when Susan Annis started her Real Estate career, we are proud of where we are as a business and how many people a year we make home buying and selling an enjoyable, relaxing and financially rewarding experience for. We are most inspired though by the hearts of each of our team members that are passionate in giving back to those who are less fortune. Each team member elects to contribute time and money to these various charities and we look forward to giving back in 2018.
